Falling High is an alternative metal band that originally formed in Oklahoma during the Fall of 2002.  Guitarist and songwriter Steve Henderson and drummer Drew Sandefer formed the band as a casual project without really thinking about a musical genre or specific goals.  When Kerry Shuck signed on for the role of lead vocalist, the true sound and identity of FH began to form, as did the band’s following.  Other musicians have come and gone, but in the Fall of 2006 the band added bassist Dustin Loeffler and keyboardist Alex Bacon, providing the group with a more updated sound.  Over the years FH has played all over the Midwest including shows throughout Texas, Oklahoma, and Missouri with other bands like Hinder, Tantric, Lure, and Theory of a Deadman.  The group released their first demo, “Prelude” in 2003 and they are now working on a new studio project.  Falling High’s sound has been compared to that of other post-grunge bands such as Breaking Benjamin and Finger Eleven.

With brooding metal guitar riffs, both high-end vocal harmonies and screaming, a tight rhythm section and ambient keyboard effect, the Falling High sound is a fresh and distinguished addition to an already highly developed genre.  The band members pride themselves, however, not just on their sound but their energetic shows and powerful stage presence.  Since January 2007 the newly formed Falling High has been playing shows throughout Oklahoma and plan on offering acoustic concerts in the near future as well.
